Lazy Haze and Wicked Polish Cardiac Arrest

Helllo Lovelies!  Is everyone finally back in the swing of things after Thanksgiving?  I’m STILL trying to catch up on laundry.  That might have something to do with the fact that I only get to do it once a month, but ehhh whatever.  Haha ;P  Today I have for you a yummy fruity drink called Lazy Haze and more Wicked Polish!  I FINALLY got my paws on Pox and Pink Eye, so my WP collection is complete!!  Now I want more -_- lol

You’ll Need:

Peach Schnapps

Apple Pucker

OJ

Ice

Make It!

Cup.  Ice.  Equal glugs of peach and apple, then three glugs OJ.

OOH look!  I didn't use blue this time!!  I lahhhhuv these deep red colors, even though I have murder fingers* for like three days after I paint them.  This Essie is a deep vampy red.  I think it’s similar to Essie’s Wicked, but Berry Naughty has more of a red jelly base while Wicked has more of a darker maroon jelly base. 

*Murder Fingers:  whenever I use red polish, no matter HOW neat I do them, cleanup is horrible and the red stains my cuticles so it looks like I have blood all over my fingers; hence: murder fingers ;)

Wicked Polish Cardiac Arrest has a red jelly base packed full of small iridescent square glitter (that looks light purple in the sun) and various sizes of violet red – if you remember your Crayola colors – holo glitters.  Without undies the base is a sheer violet red.  It definitely looks darker in the bottle and obviously with this mani it’s a zillion times darker than on its own. 

I did one coat of Cardiac Arrest over one coat Berry Naughty and topped with Revlon Fast Dry Topcoat.  I was going to do a second coat of WP, but it got too dark out on my patio and I never got around to it.  Oops!  I still think it looks okay.  You can see the Essie was a little streaky with only one coat (on my pinkie).  As usual, all bottles are $10 for full sized + $3 flat rate for shipping.  I may have dreamt it, but I think WP will be selling sets of minis for the holidays – I’ll have to check up on that.

Wasted Wednesday! Chicks Dig It

Oh my!  I almost completely forgot about WW :O  I don’t know what it is about coming back from a holiday, but I can never seem to get everything done on time.  Probably (definitely) just me procrastinating.  Anywayssss, dudes:  Here's a drink the chicks will not only dig, but also think you’re gay for drinking!  Enjoy!

To make a Chicks Dig It,

You’ll Need:

1 ½ oz Vodka

1 oz. Triple Sec

¾ oz Peach Schnapps (I’m loving this stuff.  Can you tell??)

Splash Cranberry Juice

Splash Ginger Ale

Ice

Make It!

Combine in a shaker and shake all ingredients.  Strain into a glass.  Looks pretty in a martini glass if you’re tryin’ to impress your lady friends, boys.  We love a nice presentation ;P

Swatch Tuesday! The Hungry Asian * Mint Condition

Swatch Tuesday is here again.  How are y'all recovering from Thanksgiving?  Still gorging on leftovers?  Yum.

I had seen this polish swatched a lot on IG and thought it was really pretty.  Mint Condition has a cream mint color (obviously) base with tiny red, blue, black and purple glitters.  I swatched this quickly because I was away visiting my grandparents for Thanksgiving.  I think it would have been better with undies – or maybe if I had let each coat dry before the next.  

This is three coats of Mint Condition.  The first coat was very streaky; the second one fixed the “bald” spots except on my middle finger which is why I did the third coat.  You can still see a little spot, which I think would be unnoticeable if I had used a base coat.  It is a very pretty color, but I'm not 100% sure it looks good on me.

Again, sorry for the disgusting hangnail.  I have a bad habit of picking at my fingers when I'm stressing out or mad (which happened plenty over the holiday).

Thanksgiving Week: Day 7 - Apple 151

HALLELUJAH!!  Are they gone!?  Enjoy all the mess you have to clean up!  Ehh, it won't be so bad after a couple of these.

You'll Need:

Apple Juice

Bacardi 151

Ice

Make It!

Cup.  Ice.  Two parts apple juice to one part rum.  

Now go decorate that Christmas tree!  I'll finally allow it :)

Thanksgiving Week: Day 6 - 12 Gauge Shottie

Yeah.  Black Friday.  If you went out.....you NEED this!  And not the weapon...well, maybe.

You'll Need:
1 Bottle Corona
1/8 Bottle Bacardi Limon Rum

Make It!
Chug that beer down!!  Go go!! Okay, stop!  You only need to drink til there's no more beer in the neck of the bottle.  Now, fill the rest of the bottle up with Bacardi. Shake - GENTLY - enjoy.

Beachcomber Cocktail and Serum No. 5 Day Glow Polish

Oooh!  It’s Black Friday!  Did y’all camp out and brave the crazies??  If you did....WHY?!!!  haha Today I have for you some awesomesauce polish and a cute little martini called a Beachcomber; as if the separate drink post WASN'T enough?!  Ehh, you deserve it!  Cheers!

You’ll Need:

1 ½ oz White Rum

½ oz Triple Sec

½ oz Lemon Juice

½ oz Grenadine

Sugar (for the rim)

Ice

Make It!

Combine ingredients in a shaker.  Shake and strain into a sugar rimmed glass.

Serum No. 5 Day Glow

Holy crap guys!!  If you like glow in the dark polish, you need this!  Day Glow is a light yellow cream polish that dries matte.  I’m not a huge fan of yellow polish, but the pictures on Etsy of the glow were too much.  I couldn't resist.  As noted in the description, this stuff glows in the SHADE!  It’s that awesome.  I did one coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White for undies and two coats Day Glow, no topcoat.  This polish glows BRIGHT and long.  I went to see Skyfall over the weekend (I loved it, James Bond dude = HAWTTTT!!) and I had to make a fist to hide my nails because they were kinda distracting.  And they glowed through the entire movie!  Yeah, they were almost all faded, but still.  That’s a long time!

Hands down beats any other glow polish I've tried so far.  Well, I guess I've only tried the Different Dimension Halloween minis from this post.  But as much as I love DD, Serum No. 5 blows the glow out of the water.  I was going to do a coat of Black Cat Lacquer Paranormal (also glows), but I ran out of time and forgot.  If I could have done anything different, I would have added a topcoat.  The matte feels kinda weird, like slightly gritty.  Nothing too major, but it was really easy to scuff.  Any time I would pick up a paperclip or something, there would be a mark from it.  The marks rub off, but it was just annoying.

Thanksgiving Week: Day 5 - Yellow Cake

It's here!  Happy Thanksgiving!  Gobble Gobble, all that nonsense.  It's 7am and you've probably been cooking since 4 (bless you).  As I'm sure you've already heard "Why are you doing it like that?", "Where is this?", "Should this be burning?", "CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!" many more times than you'd like.  Don't feel guilty, just take a shot...or threeish.  "Yeah mom, it's just pineapple juice..."

1/3 oz Vanilla Vodka
1/3 oz Triple Sec (or whatever sour mix you have)
1/3 oz Pineapple Juice

Make It!
It's obviously a shot, but you could definitely stretch this out into a regular drink :)

Ahh jeez.  It's Wednesday.  You probably picked up the fam and are prepping all the dishes for tomorrow.  Get hammerfied and enjoy their company!

3/4 oz Dark Rum (calls for Meyers, but Kraken is bettah!)
1/2 oz Cointreau
4 1/2 oz Lemonade
1 oz Cranberry Juice

Make It!

Okay guys!  THIS stuff is awesome!  Black Lung has a black jelly base packed with tiny silver holo and some small charcoal (kinda purpley) colored hex glitters.  I did two thin coats over one coat SH Onyx for undies.  I was so sad to take it off.  I love the holo glitters so much!  I actually sat there and stared at it for a good five minutes (I'm really weird like that - AND shiny things are just neat to stare at...derf!).

Thanksgiving Week: Drink 3 - Orange Climax

Tuesday is here!  You're probably having an anxiety attack and hoping the relatives flights get cancelled.  While you fantasize all the different ways they would be unable to make it, drink this!

You'll Need:
Jack Daniels
Peach Schnapps
Pineapple Juice
Orange Juice
Ice

Make It!
Cup. Ice. Shot of peach schnapps, 1/2 shot Jack (whimps!!! but that's what the recipe calls for), splashes of pineapple and OJ.

Thanksgiving Week: Drink 2 - Ocean Drive

Alrighty, it's Monday.  Are you grocery shopping for all the fixins yet?  If you were, I'm sure the store was packed and probably out of your key ingredients for your famous sweet potato pie.  Make one of these as a reward for not strangling someone!

Malibu Rum
Curacao (I only have blue, I'm sure it's all the same)
Orange Juice
Pineapple Juice
Cranberry Juice
Ice

Make It!
Cup.  Ice.  Glugs of Malibu and Curacao.  Splashes of juice.

Thanksgiving Week: Drink 1 - Cucumber Ginger Martini

Okay!  Thanksgiving is almost here!  As you do your first round of tidying up the house, have one, or five of these babies!

You'll Need:

4 oz Cucumber Vodka (I have the Skinny Girl brand I found at Total Wine, very good!)

1 oz Canton Ginger Liqueur (I have no clue what this is!  I'm sure Total Wine would have it, but if you can't find it, substitute something like Cointreau - you're only using it for the alcohol anyway! ;P)

1 oz Ginger Ale

Make It!

Chill the ingredients and stir together.  Pour into a chilled cocktail glass.  Enjoy :)

A Little Dinghy and Wicked Polish's Priapism

Alllllright alright!  Payday Friday :)  Today I have a great drink for you called A Little Dinghy (I love these cocktail recipe apps!  I was starting to run out of ideas.  And the names they have are so cute) and as I mentioned on Tuesday, a manicure Wicked Polish’s Priapism. 

You’ll Need:

Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Coconut Rum

Malibu Coconut Rum

Cranberry Juice

Pineapple Juice

Orange Juice

Ice

Make It!

Cup.  Ice.  Equal parts (the recipe calls for two shots each, but I never measure) Captain and Malibu.  Splashes of cranberry, pineapple, and OJ.

Another Blue Mani

Welp, I guess I’m back to blue!  lol I don’t know why I can’t get away from it.  Oh well.  THESE COLORS!!  I had seen a ton of posts on IG about Essie’s Butler Please.  The color was gorgeous!  I was doubtful it looked so pretty in real life.  Well, it did.  So I bought it.  C’mon.  Essie.  Blue.  Had me written all over it.  AND it looked like it would make perfect undies for Priapism.  AND-AND it’s a one coat wonder!!  I was all set to do two coats, but it isn’t needed.

Priapism is a sheer blue jelly with pink/purple color shifting shimmer.  There are also tiny light blue iridescent glitters.  It’s not packed with glitter though, very subtle.  The star of this polish is the shimmer for sure.  I did two coats of Wicked Polish Priapism over one coat of Essie Butler Please, no topcoat.  It was SO hard to capture the color shift.  I finally got it under a heat lamp, so sorry my hand looks like an Oompa-Loompa in that one picture haha.  In real life the shift is completely noticeable and turns the undies into a blue/purple looking color (“blurple” as the description on the polish listing says – great word!).

Wasted Wednesday! Bermuda Triangle

Welcome back to another installment of Wasted Wednesday! :)

To make a Bermuda Triangle,

You'll Need:

1 oz. Peach Schnapps

1/2 oz. Spiced Rum (I love Sailor Jerry or Kraken)

3 oz. OJ

Ice

Make It! 

Pour over ice in an old fashioned glass.

Swatch Tuesday! Wicked Polish * Gangrene

Wouldya look at that!! Wouldjya just LOOK.  AT.  IT!!?  lol as soon as I saw this on WickedNails’ IG I knew I HAD to have it.  I’ve never seen anything like this before. 

Gangrene is an awesome combo of different sized yellow and green neon hex glitters in a milky white (with a twinge of green – not sure if that’s just my eyes going bonkerz from the neon/white combo) base.  I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base – I kinda smudged it so that’s why the tips of my pointer and ring finger look gloopy.  Sorry!  I had already done and smudged them twice, and was not going to do them AGAIN (I guess I was REALLLLY excited to try this stuff out haha). 

This is two coats Wicked Polish Gangrene over one coat SC Snow Me White.  Application was great, however, I did set my bottle upside down for a couple minutes because it looked like the larger hexes were sunk to the bottom.

I also ordered Black Lung, Priapism (for this Friday’s post!), and I’m waiting for Cardiac Arrest and Frostbite to come.  I tried to order Pox, which is the same concept as Gangrene but with neon pink and orange hexes, but I didn't make it in time ;(  Hopefully I’ll get it on the restock!  All polish comes in full sized bottles for $10 + $3 shipping.  I just stalked her shop (I was going to order Pink Eye to make my collection complete - minus Pox of course) and there are only two bottles of Frostbite, and three each of Priapism and Black Lung, so I smell a restock coming soon :)

Strawberry Tequila Deliciousness and a Pink and Gold Manicure

Hello Lovelies!  Another week down.  Today I have a great drink concoction and one of my prettiest manicures I think I've done so far! :)  I still have some tequila and strawberry pucker left over from this post’s recipe, and I was feelin' a little creative.  I got in the kitchen, went all mad scientist, and came up with this!

You’ll Need:

Sauza Tequila (mine is Silver – I definitely recommend a clear one)

Dekuyper Strawberry Pucker

Lime Juice

Sprite

Ice

Make It!

Cup.  Ice.  Equal parts tequila and strawberry.  Add Sprite and top with a little lime juice.

Pink and Gold Manicure

Ahhhh the cuteness!!  This is Essie Fiji with Good as Gold on the accent nails.  Ring finger has one coat Good as Gold topped with two coats of Milani Jewel FX in Gold then two coats of Revlon quick dry topcoat.  On my middle finger I dotted Good as Gold and pix! Paradise Pink.  I think this is just the coolest thing ever!  This is one mani I’m super proud of :)  I’ve seen some similar pics on Pinterest and wanted to try it for a while.  I think it was a success!
